Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, mirror, on the wall.
Who’s the most made up of them all?
Is it the girl who paints her face with powders like an artist?
Or the girl who wants to wear it but instead resists?
She watches videos of how it all is done,
And a part of her knows that it must be fun,
To see her face change in a matter of seconds,
Just by using a few techniques that she learned like another art lesson.
Sadly there’s a fear residing in her,
That when she’s done it’ll be someone else’s face in the mirror.
They say it’s only supposed to emphasize,
Bring out the colors in her eyes.
She doesn’t want to hide her imperfections,
Because it took her so long to let herself accept them.
She knows its not mandatory to dress it up everyday,
But sometimes she wants to be looked at the same way.
Admired by girls similar to herself,
Who don’t know whether to purchase the products on the shelf.
